J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center Spruce Cottage Renovation

Located in scenic Morganton, North Carolina, the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center is a state-operated developmental center that provides services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. MHAworks is actively working on the renovation and reconfiguration of approximately 12,800 square feet of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center’s Spruce Cottage.

The Spruce Cottage will be reconfigured to contain four apartments housing 14 residents of the program. Our goal when renovating this building was to create a comfortable, calming environment for each resident. The scope of work for this project also includes new walls, windows, a standing seam metal roof, plumbing, HVAC system, electrical system, and fire alarm systems.
