Emergency Operations Center

MHAworks partnered with SCHRADERGROUP architecture to design a new 37,435-square-foot Emergency Operations Center for Chatham County. This state-of-the-art facility houses Chatham County’s Emergency Management and Emergency Communications Administration, Emergency Operations Center, Emergency Communications Operations, training and technology spaces, and common spaces for staff.

Our goals when designing this facility were to create a workplace that facilitates collaboration, prioritizes employee health and well-being, and ensures that the building remains operational regardless of what emergencies arise in the county and surrounding areas. Through thoughtful planning and collaboration with SCHRADERGROUP and Chatham County, MHAworks has created a facility designed around how modern 911 centers and emergency operations centers function. Special consideration has been given to ensure that this facility has the flexibility to grow to help continue to keep Chatham County safe far into the future.
