Division 2 Equipment Shop & Office

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) needed a new equipment shop and office space for their Division 2 location in Greenville. Our relationship with the NCDOT has lasted more than 15 years and has allowed us to design five different equipment shops across the state. This space needed the critical functions of a new equipment shop on a strict $8.2 million budget, so we constructed a space that met their current needs and left room for expansion to cover their future needs.

The equipment shop features 32,700 square feet of office space, storage areas, service rooms, utility rooms, and restrooms. The shop’s custom design meets the needs of the employees who work there every day by considering little details like clerestory windows that provide more natural lighting inside of the dark workplace. The space also includes 12 long bays each at 75 feet for mechanical and specialty use.
