High Climate Tea

Located in downtown Asheville, High Climate Tea is a renovation of a former art gallery into a Chinese tea shop. In redesigning the space, the goals were to highlight the tea and to provide a functional bar space for the owner to educate and serve his patrons.

MHAworks designed a custom millwork piece that displays the tea and wraps around the space to delineate the zone of the bar, which was fabricated locally from reclaimed maple. Peering through the keyhole opening, the tea lounge is outfitted with stools, chairs, and tables sourced from North Carolina furniture companies.
