Rosemary Street Hotel

MHAworks is collaborating as a local design architect for the exterior design and entitlement for a new extended-stay hotel in downtown Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Located at the intersection of Rosemary Street and Columbia Street, the Rosemary Columbia Hotel will bring 130 hotel rooms, a rooftop bar, a new public park, and public art to the area.

As a part of this project, we have helped develop a master plan for the site that will allow the hotel and a local, existing landmark to coexist harmoniously and revitalize an underutilized entry to downtown Chapel Hill.  This project maximizes the potential of a challenging site assemblage by re-imagining multiple discontinuous properties and carefully considers the requests of the local municipality, the requirements of the selected hotel brand flag, and the budget of the client.
