Metropolitan Village

The Liberty Atlantic Group hired MHAworks to develop and construct Metropolitan Village, a mixed-use, multifamily development with at-grade parking in Winston-Salem. Located on a previously vacant property stretching between Fifth and Third Streets, Metropolitan Village is the first step in implementing the East End Master Plan, a city effort designed to link Winston-Salem’s lower-income neighborhoods east of U.S. 52 to Innovation Quarter, a district focused on research, business, and education in science and technology.

Metropolitan Village will be completed in multiple phases. Phase one includes the construction of 192 different housing units including one- and two-bedroom apartments, townhome-style apartments, garden-style apartments, and apartments above a mixed-use building containing several businesses and organizations including the relocated Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity’s new headquarters. The second phase will provide additional apartments and commercial space in a mixed-use building.
