Fuqua School of Business Classroom

Taking an existing space and transforming it into something new, Duke University hired MHAworks to turn an old faculty hall in the Fuqua School of Business into a new, tiered, Ushaped classroom with a capacity of 75 students. The tiers in this space utilized an expanded foam block base with a concrete topping, supporting fixed tables with custom Corian solid surface tops.

Renovating this 3,294-square-foot classroom required removing a wood burning fireplace to fit in a teaching wall with a projection screen and two monitors. The room also required electrical work to accommodate for outlets near the desks, while acoustic wall panels were installed to improve sound and provide some privacy.
