Mamie Jenkins-ECU

Greenville, NC

MHAworks meticulously designed a full renovation of the 4,200 square foot Mamie Jenkins building while preserving as many of the building’s historical details as possible. The scope of the project included: repairing water damaged wood structural members and flooring; replacement of all plumbing, electrical & mechanical systems; new IT and distance learning capabilities in the seminar room; new finishes throughout; and design of an ADA compliant ramp that blends with the historic exterior, and raised flooring in several areas to meet accessibility requirements. The result unites the University’s rich history with modern technologies to serve the University’s ever changing needs and goals. Today the Mamie E. Jenkins building is the proud new home of the East Carolina University Honors College.
