Jaymes Carter, Associate AIA

Project Designer

Jaymes Carter has been practicing architecture for over fifteen years. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Auburn University. Jaymes moved to the Triangle area twelve years ago, and now happily calls Durham home. If asked to describe architecture, Jaymes would tell you that it is the perfect blend of art, science and technology. It is a profession that requires one to balance creativity and critical thinking. Good listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly with the client are the hallmarks of a good designer. Jaymes earnestly strives to exceed the clients’ expectations while producing aesthetically pleasing architecture. Through his years of experience, he has honed those design skills by working on a variety of building types from start to finish including: Commercial, Educational, Government, Justice Buildings, Industrial, Worship Spaces and Historical Preservation/Restoration. When Jaymes’s pen cannot be found sketching on a roll of tracing paper, you will more than likely find him writing. As a published author/playwright, he routinely can be found jotting down ideas for his next book or play. Rounding out his interests, he also enjoys reading, music and teaching. As if his life could not be more abundant, there is no greater joy for Jaymes than experiencing the beauty of family with his wife and two daughters.
