Inspections
MHA
works performed a feasibility study and design plan for renovations to the Person
County Inspections Office. The facility design required multiple departments, including planning
administration, county engineers, environmental health, graphic information systems and inspections, to
coexist in one building. Work included new plumbing and lighting fixtures, mechanical systems, ceilings
and interior partitions.
Courthouse
MHA
works provided a space allocation study for renovations to the County Courthouse and Social
Services building. The project included measured drawings of the facility to provide an accurate floor
plan to base all future work on, review of the existing space allocation by department, review of future
space requirements and alternatives, a building code review and recommendations for bringing the buildings
up to meet current code requirements. MHAworks is now proceeding with the renovation and space reallocation
project.
Person County Health and Human Services
MHA
works renovated an existing 70,000 sf abandoned Wal-Mart and converted it into office
and clinic space for several county departments. The exterior facade was reworked and includes a
covered entry courtyard and covered vehicular drop-off circle. This building was modified to meet
the county's needs in an aesthetically pleasing, economical and timely manner. Issues addressed during
the renovation included security, daylighting, privacy, acoustics, adequate restrooms, clear access
routes and adequacy of building utility systems.
